Defense Acquisition University

In response to past overspending and lack of cost controls in the defense acquisition process, the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) was created to serve as the Department of Defense (DoD) training establishment. Authorized by Congress under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA), the DAU provides training for all Defense Acquisition Workforce members in 14 career fields and at three certification levels. Recognizing the benefits these courses will provide to the civilian workforce, the DAU Equivalency Provider program was established.
